To receive consideration, completed applications must be postmarked by April 20, 2013 along with three reference letters and the parent's financial statement.  A panel of judges will select the winners on the basis of academic performance (GPA), activities or experience related to the chosen field, extra curricular activities (in and out of school) and/or employment, and financial need.  Scholarships may be used to supplement other funds received for the same school.

Winners will be notified by mail no later than May 25, 2013, and the Scholarships will be awarded at Spree in June 2013.

Each year the Livonia Youth Commission together with the Livonia Anniversary Committee, Inc. presents the annual Spree Memorial Scholarships to commemorate the volunteer efforts of Sally Miller, Jim Morgan, Pat Bowman and the memory of other volunteers.  It is our hope that the recipients of the Spree Scholarships will bring the same generous volunteer efforts back into the Livonia community as did these wonderful individuals.

In 2013, Scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to Livonia resident graduating high school seniors who plan to attend a Michigan community college, university or accredited technical school.
